Description Sebastien Roy 2008-04-25 08:42:33 UTC
vermillion 89:

When I go to Preferences->Appearance, select "Visual Effects", and
select something other than "None" ("Normal", for example), the right
thing happens. Compiz opens a can of whoop-*ss on my desktop and rocks.
When I logout and log back in, however, compiz is nowhere to be found
and the "Visual Effects" preference is back to "None".
Comment 1 Erwann Chénedé 2008-04-28 06:46:19 UTC
my gnome-session patch wasn't applied while building :/
This is fixed now.

Note this is a gnome 2.22 problem only problem.

I upgraded from Nevada to OpenSolaris 2008.05, the preference does not persist.
I checked the /usr/bin/gnome-wm, seems to have the patch Erwann put in the
forum[1].

(I'm acting as the bug triager for Desktop bugs for this week)
I can not get this bug on my snv_92 build now, I'm going to close this bug to
"RESOLVED - FIXED"
