Bugzilla – Bug 1731
OpenSolaris/Indiana needs a new calendar solution for those inside the SWAN

I just switched from Solaris to OpenSolaris as my working OS, and OpenSolaris does not seem to come with dtcm or a good dtcm equivalent. The calendar in Thunderbird seems to be local-only -- we couldn't figure out how to get it to talk to Sun's remote calendar server. Evolution mail/calendar seems to want to setup email accounts, before it lets us see what it can do in the way of calendar. To install /usr/dt/bin/dtcm requires a non-obvious set of steps, something like this: cd /net/netinstall/export/nv/x/86/Solaris-11/Product su root pkgadd -d `pwd` SUNWmfrun SUNWdtbas SUNWdtcor SUNWdtdst SUNWtltk SUNWctpls and, we all know that dtcm is a crappy solution anyway. So, as we start moving internally to OpenSolaris/Indiana, we need to solve the calendar problem....
Perhaps Mozilla's SunBird project might be worth looking into?
As I know, dtcm connects to dtcalendar only which has been deperated. The new calendar server is our edge calendar server. Both Evolution and Thunderbird's lightning plugin could connect to it. For Evolution setup, please see http://www.go-evolution.org/Evolution_JESCS The connector is in Indiana. The pacage name is SUNWevolution-jescs. Lightning is in Indiana, too. The package name is SUNWthunderbird-calendar. Mark as fixed.
