Most of the time, but not always, Evolution does not show newly arrived emails
in the inbox of an IMAP account.  The notification icon pops up saying there is
a new email but it's not shown.  When switching to another folder and back, the
email is shown.

I can't tell yet what the "not always" means, I try to find out.

Did you use the old configuration of account or a new configuration for
Evolution?

IIRC I deleted the whole .evolution/ directory, but I did not delete the gconf
entries.

I also met the similar problem in Evolution 2.24.0. A folder shows that there
's a new mail but I can't see that mail unless I switch to another folder and
back. I guess this is the same problem. This has been fixed in Evolution
2.24.1.

That sounds very much like my problem.  Will 2.24.1 be in snv_102?

This bug will be fixed in snv_104, evolution 2.24.1.
