gnome2.20 snv_85 installed on solaris nevada 83.

1. Setup xorg.conf see:-
http://blogs.sun.com/erwann/entry/compiz_on_solaris_x86
2. Select preferences appearance, Select the 'Visual effects' tab

Expected result: 
There are None, Normal, Extra and Custom options in 'Visual effects' tab for
user to enable choose the compiz effect. 

Atcual result: 
User can not see these options and can not enable compiz without xorg.conf

For nvidia graphic card, you can use 
nvidia-xconfig --add-argb-glx-visuals --composite  --render-accel
--allow-glx-with-composite
to set up the xorg.conf.
